The thoughts behind FireHub

People have to make important choices about something they rarely experience themselves, often without expert knowledge, and the information often comes from someone who also has something to sell.

FireHub reads what exists about a building, shows what is missing and who has to follow up, and remembers it when people change. The articles here are the thinking behind it.

The direction is zero fire deaths.

We are trying to understand better why people make the choices they do, what influences them, how buildings and their use change the conditions, and how technology can give more people a better basis for understanding what is actually needed.
  1. What is FireHub?

FireHub is a digital infrastructure layer for fire prevention, built to understand, connect and follow up before anything happens.

  2. Can technology make good fire prevention more likely?

We have regulations, inspections, checks, campaigns and professionals. Even so, preventive work gets postponed, forgotten or deprioritised. Not necessarily because people don't care. The risk often feels far away, knowledge varies, and it can be hard to know what is actually right for your own building or situation. So we ask: can technology make it easier to understand what matters, make better choices and make good fire prevention a natural part of everyday life? And can we, over time, see that it actually makes a difference?

  3. When AI is the system

The difference between an AI layer and an AI-native safety system is not about language models. It is about documentation, responsibility and follow-up.

  4. The building stays. The people change

A building can stand for centuries. The board, the tenants and the suppliers around it change far more often. The documents can stay. The understanding of them does not always follow.

  5. Is the weakest point really awareness?

Fire prevention only works when people actually remember, understand and take part.

  6. Points are not the point

FireHub Personal uses experience points, medals and visible progress. Not to turn fire prevention into a game, but because we want to find out whether small good actions can become easier to do, repeat and keep up.

  7. Forskrift om brannforebygging § 9 and § 10: what the owner must have in place

Forskrift om brannforebygging § 9 and § 10 (the Norwegian fire prevention regulation), systematic safety work and documentation, are the requirements most owners find hardest to show at an inspection, and what FireHub is built to make everyday work.

Project Zero

Project Zero is our work on one question: why does fire prevention slip, when everyone knows it matters? The direction is zero lives lost to fire.

We did not start with the question of which features a fire prevention system ought to have. We started with the question:

What is the problem we are actually trying to solve?
